My Wedding Day Energy: What I Did & What I Wish I'd Done Differently

I recently got married (yay!), and it truly was one of the most amazing days of my life. While I genuinely loved every moment, I learned a few valuable lessons about keeping my energy high and managing stress effectively. Here's the honest breakdown of what worked well, and what I wish I'd done differently.

✅ What I Did Right

1. Taking Quiet Moments

Making time for small pauses to breathe and reflect helped me stay present. Little breaks between events provided a sense of calm amid the excitement.

2. Trusting the Experts

Hiring professionals like Elope Tofino took a huge load off my shoulders. Knowing I could trust Emilie's experience allowed me to focus more on enjoying my day.

3. Staying in the Moment

Despite the chaos, I made an effort to take it all in—the emotions, the people, the little in-between moments. This was huge for feeling connected to the day instead of rushing through it.

⚠️ What I Wish I'd Done Differently

1. Actually Having the Lemon Water

I meant to start my morning with lemon water, but in all the excitement, I completely forgot. Instead, I went straight into getting ready, and I definitely felt it later. I was bloated, and I know hydration would've helped so much. There is no next time for me, so all you gals out there, make sure to have a big glass first thing before getting swept up in everything.

2. Managing Hormonal Bloating

I underestimated how much hormonal bloating could impact how I felt. Even if I had remembered the lemon water, I didn’t do enough to tackle bloating directly. I’d incorporate additional remedies—like gentle stretches, probiotic-rich foods, or digestive supplements—to proactively manage bloating.

3. Stress Management

Even though I thought I was relaxed, underlying stress definitely affected my energy. Stress can cause physical symptoms like bloating and fatigue. If I could go back, I'd focus more deliberately on stress-relieving activities (guided meditation, deep breathing, or journaling) in the days leading up to my wedding.

4. Prioritizing Nutrition & Hydration Throughout the Day

I had a great start but could've maintained better nutrition and hydration consistently throughout the entire day. Packing easy snacks and hydrating drinks could've prevented energy dips later on.
